Governor Polis’ statement on end to threat against Colorado schools

DENVER — Wednesday, April 17, 2019 — Governor Jared Polis released the following statement:

"As confirmed by the FBI, Sol Pais has been found deceased and the potential threat is over. It’s times like these that help us appreciate friendship, family, and community. Today, parents across Colorado – including me - are hugging their children a little tighter. Together we thank law enforcement for their swift and diligent actions over the past 24 hours to keep Coloradans safe, and we will continue to be vigilant against threats to our community."

"We know that there is a lot of anxiety right now in Colorado. We want to reassure you that federal, state, and local law enforcement are working together and dedicating all of their resources to locate this dangerous individual. The most important thing that we can do to assist law enforcement is to continue to share the photograph of the suspect and report any information. Coloradans have a history of coming together in times of need and now is no different. Our biggest priority is keeping our children safe. We thank you for your patience while we deal with this threat."

Gov. Polis, CDHS announce Colorado’s Behavioral Health Task Force

DENVER - Monday, April 8, 2019 - Gov. Polis and the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) announced Colorado’s Behavioral Health Task Force today. This task force will evaluate and set the roadmap to improve the current behavioral health system in the state. This includes developing Colorado’s “Behavioral Health Blueprint” by June 2020 with anticipated implementation of recommendations starting in July 2020.
